Volume Mute
ASCII command to silence the volume completely, used in place of fading on some units (check your receiver manual).

End of Line
ASCII characters to place at the end of each line (check your receiver manual usually 10 & 13).

Error Echo
ASCII code for an input error returned by the unit (check your receiver manual).

Volume Fields (From - To)
The range of volume available (check your receiver manual). For example the first field might be 0 and the last 10.

Delay
The delay in milliseconds between sending command strings, often 2500 milliseconds although it varies from unit to unit.

Using a supplied program and Drivers

Some units come with their own drivers or software which can also be setup to work with Robot, rather than configuring a driver as above. To use external drivers instead of the "satellite.sys" driver (you have to use one or the other) check the "External Drivers" box.

The support is fairly basic…run the supplied .EXE to start a channel. Run another .EXE to silence the unit. You can also use batch (.BAT) files to operate the supplied programs (.EXE) with parameters you need. To setup these batch files contact support for the unit you have purchased - this is their department.

Tell them you need four batch files that start four separate channels (and turn up the volume if need be); and one batch file to silence whichever channel is playing. Most of the basic software supplied with satellite receiver units can be used in this way.

Once you have the .BAT files ready simply locate them with the locate buttons. You can then test them to see that they do what their supposed to. Be aware however that in Robot you may need to change the default dialogue to "*.bat" in stead of ".exe" in the popup selection, if you are indeed using batch files.

Export as Connection Driver File
If you have other PC's that use Robot remotely and they are satellite connected, you may wish to use the same driver file for each (or indeed your settings for external drivers). When you click this button you are prompted to insert a blank disk in the floppy drive. The file satellite.sys is written to the disk. To use it on the other PC simply copy and paste the satellite.sys file off the floppy disk, into the "c:\robot" folder. Select yes to overwrite. If you are using external drivers however, make sure that the .EXE's or batch files are also on the remote PC for Robot to use.
