Top means the item will start playing immediately through to its end point.
Mid means the item will start playing half way through the item in the Primary channel.
Tail means the item will play on the end of the primary item. A calculation is made based on the length of the item and this is subtracted from the end point of the primary. You can also set a snap for items playing at the Tail position in the "ITEMS" section, so that they do not end too bluntly as the primary finishes.
As the Primary channel is the main channel all of the channels key off, items within it can only be set at the Top position. Within the other three channels any of the three block positions can be selected.

To begin with we will setup a simple format in the primary channel.
Select the day part and day from the drop down menus.
If there is an existing format it will be loaded and displayed in the cells of the format planner.
Click the "Clear Hour" button.
You can hard code various settings into the format. You select these prior to slotting in the item.
Group
All items except songs, commands, Feeds & Tags have a default group and 20 other groups. You have 1012 available song groups. You can choose different groups within an hour, so for example use different genres of music within the one hour. Whether and how you use the various groups is up to you and what audio you import into them with the library. If the item you are adding is a song then select the song group from the left. The folder names are accompanied by tag's beneath the drop down menu which you can type over to change them. This allows you to give each song group a more easily identifiable name.
