Robot 2002 PRO (Robot) is one of the most versatile radio products available. It is also fully Australian owned, produced and supported. With Robot you can turn a standard PC into a radio station which will sound completely professional, even if you have very limited experience in radio.
Whilst originally began over eleven years ago for low power (i.e. Narrowcast) radio stations, the software is now suitable for virtually any size of Radio station, incorporating features and flexibilities you would pay thousands for on competing overseas products.
Robot is fully compatible with all versions of windows from 98 onwards, including windows XP Service Pack 2.
Confirming The Installation
If you are using WIN2K or Windows XP you must run Robot in either the "Administrator" account (recommended) or an account that has full read and write permissions to the "C:\" drive. You MUST install robot to the "c:\robot" directory as indicated in the setup, it will not work correctly in any other location. If you have purchased the product and your computer does not conform to this requirement (e.g.. Your main drive is called something other than "C:\") please telephone or email support so that we may prepare a custom installer for you (there will be no additional charge). Confirm Robot has been installed correctly Once the Robot installer has finished please click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and open windows explorer. Confirm that you have installed Robot to the "c:\robot" folder. This is important because Robot will not work in any other location. Robot is designed to run on a standalone computer and to be the sole function of that computer so it resides in the middle of the hard drive.
Making a Startup shortcut It is recommended that you make a shortcut for Robot so that it starts automatically each time the computer is started. To do this on the start menu go to START > programs > Robot and right-click the "START - Local" shortcut in the Robot folder; select "copy". Proceed to the "Startup" folder in the start menu (usually towards the top) and right-click it. Select "Open". The Startup folder will open. Right-click in the folder and select paste, this will copy a shortcut into your startup folder.
SETTING YOUR SCREEN
To use Robot effectively you should have your screen resolution set to 1024 X 768. You can use Robot with settings higher or lower, although the results may be unpredictable. The software is also designed to fill the maximum area of the screen for use in a studio, so you must set your toolbar to auto hide or the bottom part of screens will not appear correctly. Right click "properties" on the task bar and make sure the "Taskbar Appearance" is set as at the left.
