What we now have is a waveform recording of your Station ID. This waveform is called a track. It is however only MONO (i.e. one track) we need it to be stereo so that it is the same as the rest of your audio.
Choose from the edit menu > Select > All. This will highlight your recording. Choose from the edit menu > Duplicate. This will create another track. In the top track beside "Audio Track" from the drop down menu select "Left Channel". In the bottom track beside "Audio Track" from the drop down menu select "Right Channel". You now have a stereo recording of your ID. If you have made a mistake you can edit the waveform. Full instructions for this can be found in the help files on the http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ website. Alternatively (if editing is not your flair) you can simply select "Close" from the file menu, answer no to save your work. Select "New" then repeat the recording process.
Also make sure that the recording is loud enough. You can test this by pressing the play button.
Assuming you now have a station identification recording that you are happy with it is time to save it onto your hard drive. From the file menu select "Export as MP3" (or "Export as WAV" if you have chosen to use WAV files). Locate "c:\robot\id" in the popup save box. Type in a filename. Click Save.
You might like to record a few more station ID's that have a different flavor, if so repeat the recording process above.
